1. Experience & Learning Outcome of Moral Machine Activity
Doing the Moral Machine Activity was an eye-opening experience. It placed me in difficult moral dilemmas where I had to decide between saving passengers or pedestrians, the young or the elderly, humans or animals, and people following rules versus those breaking them.
I realized that such decisions are not simple—different cultures, values, and emotions influence our judgments. This made me aware of how AI (like self-driving cars) will also need to be programmed with moral decisions, and it raised the question: whose morality should machines follow?
My learning outcome is that ethics in AI is not only about technology but also about human values, philosophy, and cultural perspectives.
